Chatting on the Windfyre Network
You might be wondering.. how does one come on to chat on the
Windfyre Network? There are several ways that you might be able to logon to our network.
Below are just a few listed ways. Also note that on the right side of each page, you may
find our Java Applets (Which are IRC Clients embedded in the Webpage).

|
Connecting Via Java Clients
This is by far the simplest way to connect to the Windfyre IRC Network.
Infact, this might be one of the reasons you are at this website at all: You came from a
website that had one of our Java Applets on it!
Chatting on the Java IRC Clients is pretty easy. You require
little configuration of your own, just putting in your nickname on the Top Left-hand Corner.
The Java Applet automatically takes you to the Website's chatroom when you click on Enter.
One other thing you should know about the Java Clients: There is currently
some kind of glitch that will not allow some users to access the IRC Network, and the Client gives
off an error such as "Broken Pipe" or similar. If this happens, please try one of the other IRC
Clients.

Connecting Via IRC Clients
A popular way to connect to any IRC Server through Windows is the
mIRC Client. This is a very great alternative to the Java Client, in terms of ease and
performance.
To connect to the Windfyre Network via the mIRC Client is pretty
simple: If you are an experienced mIRC User, then you simple type /server irc.windfyre.net.
If this is your first time using mIRC (For this server, say), you should Type ALT+O first (both
at the same time). It will popup a configuration box in mIRC. Once you are done filling in everything
(Nickname, Email, and other misc options.. check 'em all out, pretty useful) then type
/server irc.windfyre.net. Voila, you are now on the Windfyre Network. :)
The mIRC Windows Client can be download at
http://www.mirc.com. Alternatively, you can look for
mIRC Scripts that are found all over the Internet! Be aware, though, we are not responsible for
what these scripts contain. There are also many other clients
for Windows and for other operating systems/platforms.
